Questions
How do I read a QR code that is on this phone’s screen?
Take a screenshot or save the picture, then choose it here. You can also copy a screenshot and paste it into the page. The code is read from the image, so you do not need a second phone or a live camera scanner.
Is my picture uploaded, and what happens when I press Open?
The picture and code contents stay in this tab and are not sent to our servers. Reading does not contact an address inside the code. Only pressing Open asks your browser to visit that exact HTTP or HTTPS address in a new tab.
Why do you not say that a QR code is safe?
A code’s structure cannot prove who controls a site, what the page shows now or whether a payment recipient is genuine. Threat lists can also lag behind new attacks. We show specific warning signs and what was not checked, never a safety guarantee.
What does it mean when an address is hidden?
A short link, redirect wrapper or dynamic QR service can show one domain while sending you somewhere else later. This reader does not follow the link to discover the destination, because doing so would contact it. Verify the link another way if you did not expect it.
What should I check before paying from a QR code?
In your bank or wallet, check the recipient or payee address, account, amount, currency, fees, network and payment reference. Treat the final confirmation screen as authoritative: names printed inside an unsigned code are not independently verified here.
Can I read 2FA, login and authenticator-export codes?
Yes. Their access secrets are hidden until you choose to reveal them, and multi-part Google Authenticator exports can be collected with Add picture. Anyone who sees or copies those secrets may be able to generate sign-in codes or link a device, so clear the page when you are done.
Why was no QR code found, and can I use a PDF?
Use a sharp picture with the whole square visible, some space around it and little glare. Crop closer or use a screenshot instead of photographing a screen. PDFs are not opened directly: take a screenshot of the page that contains the code.
What if one picture contains several QR codes?
The reader shows every code it can read, numbers the frames in the preview and keeps their order. It also points out different destination domains or overlapping frames. For a code or authenticator export split across pictures, use Add picture.
