Hash Calculator
Calculate SHA-256 hashes of text, files or decoded bytes locally, then copy or export the result.
Calculate MD5 hashes of text, files or decoded bytes for legacy use in your browser — free, with no sign-up, and your input never leaves your device. Enter text, select a file or decode bytes, then copy the digest or compare it with an expected MD5 value.
Empty input is valid. Spaces and Unicode are preserved; no BOM is added.

MD5 produces 16 bytes: 32 hexadecimal characters. Base64 represents the same digest bytes. MD5 and SHA-1 are available for legacy compatibility; they are unsuitable for modern cryptographic integrity protection.
Input source: Text / Files / Encoded bytes. Empty input is valid. Spaces and Unicode are preserved; no BOM is added. Text encoding: UTF-8, UTF-16LE, UTF-16BE; Line endings: LF / CRLF. Any file type is accepted. The original bytes are hashed, not extracted document text or the filename. Files are processed one at a time in 1 MiB chunks.
Select the expected algorithm and encoding explicitly. Comparison uses decoded bytes and checks the exact length. Changing output format or expected value does not reread a file.
