What is Lorem Ipsum, and when should I use dummy text?
Lorem Ipsum is pseudo-Latin placeholder text for layouts, mockups and prototypes. This dummy text generator creates Classic Lorem Ipsum or native filler text in your chosen output language, independently of the interface language. Use it to test layout and text flow; it is not an AI article writer.
Can I generate an exact number of words or characters?
Yes. Quick mode makes an exact total of paragraphs, sentences, words, or visible characters. Character counts use Unicode grapheme clusters, so a combined accent or emoji is counted as one visible character rather than several code units.
Can I control words and sentences inside each paragraph?
Yes. Structured mode takes an exact paragraph count, an exact number of sentences per paragraph, and either an exact word count or an inclusive word range for every sentence. It shows the maximum size before generation.
What is localized filler text?
It is neutral placeholder copy authored for the selected language, with its own script, punctuation, direction, and word order. It is not a translation of Lorem Ipsum and it is not an AI article writer.
What does the HTML format copy?
It copies one escaped <p> element per paragraph. Every element includes lang and dir attributes, so Arabic, Urdu, Japanese, and the other outputs keep the right language and direction when pasted into another page.
Is generated text sent to a server or saved?
No. Generation and counting happen in this browser tab. mtool saves your settings on this device, but it does not save the generated document or its random seed and does not send either one to a server.
Why does Classic Lorem Ipsum start with the familiar phrase?
That option is on by default because many mockups expect the recognizable opening. You can turn it off, and when it is on the five opening words are included inside the size you requested rather than added on top.
